Carmita Lorador

Born in Portugal to an iconic generational European circus family Carmita Lorador’s lineage shaped her into a world class hand balancer and eventually into a touring aerialist and one of the most sought-after performing artists in the world. After developing a passion for the art of hand balancing and a reputation as one of the best performers in this strenuous practice, she was hired by prestigious Cirque du Soleil as an artist. Her act with Cirque du Soleil took her all over the world for many years until she suffered multiple injuries.

Carmita’s love for hand balancing performance was cut short by an unfortunate accident in which she was badly injured. After several years of physical therapy and thinking her former self would never recover a friend recommended that she give yoga a try. Carmita went forward with yoga giving it her best effort in rebuilding her broken body and her fractured dreams. Over a course of time she became stronger and more flexible overcoming the trauma that had rendered her almost incapable of ever recovering. She turned to Yoga which helped her recover physically as well as spiritually. She took it up one more level and became a certified Yoga instructor helping everyone find the benefits of Yoga. “I took one class after another and instead of having surgery and I healed myself,” says Carmita. “I believe that balance is the key to a happy life.”
